Book review of Helsinki Blood (An Inspector Vaara Novel) by James Thompson

Dark and brutal and delightful (4.6 stars)

This novel has characteristics that I do not normally like, but the author made it work, and work well. It is told in the first person, present tense, with lots of introspection by the main character. It was dark and brutal and delightful. Two crippled cops and one alcoholic cop work together to dig themselves out of a hole with violence and cunning while trying to protect their loved ones.
